1. Mini Intro

Hicham Maged

I’m a native Muslim, Arabic and Egyptian man -born in 1977- who believes that mind is the most important grants from God (Allah) to mankind in order to use for the welfare of our societies, and this is simply one of many cornerstones of the Islamic creed.

I consider my personality as the resultant of the interaction of such three cultural contexts, and this ensures a vivid medium for interacting with other humans. Such interaction is based on the awareness about our differences, and avoids any kind of guardianship except upon myself. However man ought to call for virtues like “Ethics”, “Justice” and “Freedom” or else societies collapse without them and this is another cornerstone of the Islamic creed.

I used to write since I was young without publishing anything, and then started primary publishing within my personal blog, Amr Khaled forum and other forums. As of 2005 I moved into freelance writings in English via I-MAG Magazine.

It’s not necessarily that you agree with me as everyone has his/her own personality, therefore -for me- I understand our differences and have no problem. Moreover I’m not preloaded with stereotyped images so the image I perceive is directly proportional to people’s actions and words. Thereby, I’m not affiliated to any political parties, groups or sects simply because this is a form that doesn’t fit me.

2. My Portal(s) + Social Media

On one hand, this space - referred as ‘My Site’ (“www.hichamaged.net”) -is the e-container of my cerebrations in various forms that includes “articles”, “stories”, “randomly thoughts” and “personal quotes”. The last one is what I collected from my papers and it’s great to place them organised in one place. In parallel, my Arabic site (موقع هشام ماجد) also contains my cerebrations in Arabic, so feel free to check if you are interested in reading Arabic articles

On the other hand, you shall mainly find me blogging at my Blog (Hicham Maged's blog) where I discuss various stuff in form of “blog posts”. As for ‘social media’ profiles, you can follow my tweets + facebook. This is simply my presence in the virtual world in a nutshell.

3. Mini Bio

Speaks Arabic and English and have good command of French.
Holds a bachelor degree in Architecture, Urban Planning and Design from Egypt;
Worked before as a trainee for the “Aga Khan Trust for Culture” development programmes in Egypt;
